1. About Evade
Evade is a competitive matchmaking platform for Dota 2, run by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME], [ADDRESS] (“Evade”, “we”). By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Evade. Evade is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve Corporation. Dota 2 and Steam are trademarks of Valve Corporation.
2. Your account
You sign in with your Steam account. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough under the law where you live to agree to these terms (or have a parent or guardian agree for you).
- One Evade account per person. Do not share, sell or trade accounts.
- Give accurate details when you set up your profile, including your date of birth.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us if you think someone else has used it.
3. Playing fair
When you play on Evade you agree not to:
- cheat, or use any program, script or exploit that gives an unfair advantage;
- fix matches, throw games on purpose, or arrange results with other players;
- play on someone else’s account, or let someone else play on yours (boosting);
- abandon matches on purpose or keep failing to accept or join them;
- harass, threaten or abuse other players, or post hateful, sexual or illegal content;
- scam other players, or ask for their passwords or Steam Guard codes;
- attack, overload or try to break into Evade, or scrape it automatically.
We may warn, suspend or ban accounts that break these rules, remove content, and reverse Elo, points, prizes or rewards gained by breaking them. We decide these cases at our discretion and may do so without warning.
4. Elo, levels, points and rewards
Elo, levels, ladder standings and Evade Points exist only on Evade. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be sold, bought or transferred outside the features Evade provides. We may change how they are calculated, correct mistakes, and reset or remove them when needed to keep the platform fair.
Personal Evade Points are earned by playing and cannot be bought. Rewards such as ladder prizes and Dota 2 items are given as described on the site when they are offered, and only to accounts that followed these terms.
5. Premium and other purchases
Some things on Evade cost money: Premium, a display-name change, and points for an organization’s balance. Payments are handled by Stripe; Evade never sees or stores your card details. Prices are shown before you pay.
- Premium lasts for the period you bought. It does not renew automatically unless the site says so when you buy.
- A name change adds one change of your display name to your account.
- Organization points go to that organization’s balance and are used for its tournament prize pools. They cannot be withdrawn as money.
- Refunds: [REFUND POLICY — e.g. within 14 days if the purchase has not been used, and as required by law]. When a payment is refunded, what it bought is taken back.
6. Organizers, tournaments and clans
Organizer pages are approved by Evade. Organizers are responsible for running their tournaments and clans fairly and for the prize pools they fund. An organizer page’s owner, admins and moderators may not play in that page’s tournaments.
We may remove organizer pages, tournaments or clans that break these terms. Prize pools of cancelled tournaments go back to the organization’s balance.
7. What you post
You keep ownership of what you post (messages, posts, images, names). You give Evade permission to store, show and process it so the site can work, for as long as it stays on Evade. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share. You can report anything that breaks these terms, and we may remove it.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Evade running, but it is provided “as is”, and matches, lobbies or the site may sometimes be unavailable or go wrong. Dota 2 lobbies run on Valve’s servers, which we do not control. We may change or stop features, and we may update these terms; if the changes are significant we will tell you on the site. Using Evade after a change means you accept it.
9. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Evade is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost Elo, points or rewards, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid Evade in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited. [HAVE THIS SECTION REVIEWED.]
10. Ending your account
You can stop using Evade at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may close accounts that break these terms. Paid time and points left on a closed account are not refunded unless the law requires it.
